Problem Statement

Customer producing parts of diesel engine that including valve and cylinder, it is mainly made by aluminum die casting.

After the machining, the parts need to remove the shape angles and deburr, but it is too time consuming by labour and the performance is not stable. Even using common machines, some workmanship still cannot meet customer’s request.

Customer wants to develop an automatic grinding system to be used in their company for higher accuracy and higher productivity.

Problem Statement

The Japanese customer is in the production of automotive power windows and electric seats with micro motor. The customer wanted to modify their production line of the soldering flatten and polishing of the rotor, it is aimed to improve the productivity and cutting down the cost.

Solution

By using EPSON robot for the material load/unload.

Customer’s Feedback

With the new system implemented, it has greatly raised the productivity and cut down the production cost. Soldering flatten and polishing can be completed in the same machine, highly increase the consistency.

Problem Statement

A mobilephone OEM needs to attach a layer of tape in the inside of the screen during the production process. It is wasting a lot of man power and time with the manual process. On the other hand, the jig and fixture is needed to convert and maintain according to the model change of the products, the cost is very high.

Customer needed a fully automatic machine to replace the manpower, by using vision system + robot, it can work on different models of products, increase the productivity and saving the cost.

Problem Statement

For the smoke detector assembly line design, customer request the installation of optical device to be installed by using robot and vision. Vision camera fixed on the 2nd axis of robot will pick up 4 devices at one time and install into 4 locations of the product case in sequence for every working cycle.

Solution

Epson robot with the guidance of Panasonic vision system allow the assembly of smoke detector process to be carried out successfully as desired by customer.

By using robot with vision guidance, the product assembly process is fast and accurate, improving work efficiency.

Problem Statement

Customer is producing different models of mobile phone screen. During the production, the screen have to be laminated with a layer of protective sheet, accuracy must be±0.3mm. No scratches or damage is permitted.
Because of the high labor cost and low efficiency, the customer need to upgrade their production line, and reduce the working cycle time to be less than 3.6s。

Solution

Recommended to use Epson robot + Panasonic vision system for position matching and guiding the robot to laminate the protective sheet.

Customer’s Feedback

Through the auto calibration function, the robot can complete the pick and place function perfectly and precisely. This has greatly improved the productivity and meet the customer’s production demand.

Problem Statement

The customer is producing different kinds of mobile phone screen, during the production, the rejected products must be returned to the first step of procedure for reworking.The screen have to be disassembled and stick on the POL again.
In the past, the customer was using manpower for reworking. The manual process need a lot of workers resulting low efficiency and accuracy. So they need to modify the production line and build up a automatic POL sticking machine.

Solution

Recommended to use Epson robot and Panasonic vision system ，By using vision guidance to match the position of the POL and the screen, suck up the POL and stick it on the correct position again.

Customer’s Feedback

By using vision guidance, the robotic system can adapt to a variety of models and handle different kinds of POL sticking. This has highly increased the productivity and meet the customer’s requirement.

Problem Statement

Refer to the work flow, the project is splitted into following sub-projects：
1.Epoxy dispensing.
2.Air bubble check after dispensing.
3.Circuit board casing.
4.Label checking.
5.Temp cycle test after casing.
6.Mounting Assembly.

Solution

By using Epson Robot and Cognex Vision System. With precision pick and place by the Epson robot, plus accurate positioning and inspection of the Cognex vision system.

Result & Benefit

With the Epson robot, there is a reduction of the generation of bubbles and no leaking, resulting in uniform coating and speed is improved. Most importantly, the robot achieve efficiency and a higher inspection pass rate.
